The Franklin Scandal by Nick Bryant – & the spiritual lesson from Alisha Owen

Updated: Jun 30, 2022

Omaha, a city in the state of Nebraska in the US, was the scenario of one of the most bizarre cases of child trafficking and pedophilia cover up – at least that we know of.

‘The Franklin Scandal’ is a throughout research by Nick Bryant on the Franklin bank corruption case, right from the dungeons of the 80’s with an unbelievable tale of lies, murder, threats and malign forces at work.

This book will corrode any hope that you may have left in justice systems, police and the media (as if that was even possible). It shows the ugly face of the corrupt ‘respectable’ members of society moving all their will - along with the media - to destroy the truth at the cost of the lives and minds of thousands of children who are groomed for the pleasure (and occult rituals) of powerful people of the United States. But make no mistake, what we see here has happened and is happening as we speak in all countries in the world.

The Sodomite Justice system

While reading the book, I could not help but thinking about Sodom. We may think that sodomy was the only thing that brought the wrath of the Creator upon them, but their wickedness far surpassed sexual immorality. The apocryphal book of Yasher tells us about their extreme hostile attitude towards foreigners sojourning in their land. They would refuse to sell or buy from poor foreigners and would not even feed or give water to people in need. If someone felt bad and decided to go ‘against the law’, the punishment for this humanitarian action would be death.

Foreigners could also fall prey to their unfair justice system. In one of the accounts present in the book of Yasher, when a foreigner is attacked in the forehead with a stone by a Sodomite, this one takes the foreigner to the local judge asking for legal compensation. To our surprise, the judge says that the Sodomite was correct and the bleeding foreigner would indeed have to pay compensation to the Sodomite because ‘it was the law of that land’. The foreigner found a funny yet smart solution: he took a stone and hit the judge’s forehead and told him: ‘now you take the money you owe me and pay him’. That one made me laugh out loud! :)

Now back to the Franklin Scandal book, let me warn you that it has the potential to make your blood boil acknowledging how failed and unjust man-made justice system can be when the powerful people want to cover up their filth. While I will not go into the details of the book, there is one main character that stood out for her remarkable resilience: Alisha Owen.

Suffering as a test to make us stronger

Alisha Owen was groomed to be part of a pedophile ring in the US when she was still a young teenager. Such violence, early sexual exposure combined with heavy drug use, played its toll on her and by the time she was considered ‘too old’ to be a teenage prostitute, the financial support stopped and she had a bad check felony reported and was incarcerated in York.

Unable to trust anyone, Alisha was in silence about her story until Gary Caradori found her and got her story on videotape. The chain of people and events described by Alisha became an FBI ‘investigation’ and a nationwide televised drama. Alisha, along with other former teenage prostitutes, started being harassed by the FBI and most of them broke and gave in to the threats, except Alisha. But how or why hasn’t Alisha taken the easier way out of her misery and accepted to lie?

Imprisoned for her bad checks (a far harsher punishment than normal for such cases), when Alisha refused to take back her statement to Mr. Caradori, she was sent to solitary. In total, Alisha spent over 400 days in complete isolation. Although Alisha lost touch with her Christian faith during her many years of abuse, once in solitary her only distraction was the Bible. She would read it for hours on end and her faith was strengthen by the Father, making this young woman in her early 20’s a fortress able to resist the FBI, countless depositions and harassing interrogations and a complete failed justice system. Alisha needed no one – the Messiah had her back and gave her peace.

Alisha Owen has a lot to teach us about resilience and how Yahuah works in mysterious ways to bring us to Him. It is undeniable that Alisha was tested and the pain she suffered was probably more than many of us could endure, nevertheless her life is a testimony that when you have the love of the Messiah, no worldly injustice or physical pain can take away the joy of Yahusha Ha’Mashiach (Jesus Christ) from our hearts.

We tend to suffer when we see how it seems that bad people keep getting away with their evil deeds. They are rich, powerful and tread on the weak. But nothing we do here gets unnoticed and even if the justice of men was not there for Alisha, Yahuah’s will. For the righteous, all bad things will be turned to good things (although it will still hurt). For the wicked, all good things they may have now will be turned to pain when the heavenly judgment comes. As the Creator of all had it written:

To me belongs vengeance, and recompense; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste.

Deuteronomy 32:35

Btw, Alisha is alive and well, here is a recent interview:
